BHPBIO contract with Proteus EPCM enters fifth year
Proteus EPCM Engineers contract as one of a panel of engineers to undertake sustaining capital works at Mt Newman, Pt Hedland and associated Pilbara mine sites continues into its fifth year in 2011, but this in increasing to $1.2bn as Rapid Growth Expansion projects come on stream. The works have comprised an annual budget of some $300m - $400m.
Proteus has been working with BHPB on a range of projects in recent years, and is currently undertaking -
- Port Hedland Fuel Facility, (circa $80m)
- Mt Newman Beneficiation Plant upgrade (circa$20 m)
BHPB IO lead the world in advanced safety, health and environmental management systems. Proteus fully supports and complies with these systems philosophically and operationally on all projects. We have recently been re-certified to AS 4801 Safety Management by Burean Veritas in their regular six-monthly audit of the Proteus SHE (Safety Health and Environment) Management System.
